I, Peter Bezuidenhout, CEO, was an Operational Firefighter for 30 years, at the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. We as Firefighters worked under a code of “Proud, Positive and Professional” and a motto of “Always ready and prepared”
My job consisted of different emergency incidents on a daily base. Motor vehicle accidents (MVA) are one of the realities that we dealt with regularly. It was heart-breaking to free people from motor vehicle wrecks. Many times, these accidents are fatal; sometimes the injuries are serious and occasionally the occupants get off lightly.
Seeing all these accidents has motivated me to try and make a difference by making our roads safer, and preventing accidents from occurring. Normally, these accidents are made by human error. That is MY inspiration for this training.
Defensive driver training goes beyond basic driving skills and focuses on hazard perception, vehicle control, and decision-making in complex road situations. It helps drivers become safer, more aware, and more confident on the road.

You will learn hazard anticipation, defensive driving strategies, emergency handling, safe following distances, efficient braking techniques, and how to stay calm and in control in high-risk situations.
At SSS Advanced Driving, all practical training is conducted on an engineered, government-gazetted skid pad of approximately 5,000 sqm, giving you the opportunity to safely experience real-life driving scenarios. The course also includes structured theory sessions in classrooms, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.
The duration varies depending on the course structure, but most advanced driving programs range from a full day or a few days. Some providers also offer extended or customized training sessions.
